Laura Linney's portrayal of vulnerable and yet powerful characters has helped make her one of today's greatest American actors. While spending her summers at her father's house her interest grew in the theater. While at Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. The actress began her Broadway career shortly after graduating, and then made her television debut the following year. Her appearances have been in a variety of film, TV and stage productions since then. In her long career, she has received several awards. Some of them includes two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Although she has received numerous nominations, she has a passion for acting and has performed on stage and screen.
