Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in the Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. The first time she competed at the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she took the title in 1970. At her first international event in 1972 she won the event by winning three gold awards. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals in her senior debut international competition that took place in 1975. It was the first time she competed as an adult. The first female to do the reverse double salo of the parallel bar that was uneven after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment industry as a performer as a figure skater. Along with her younger sister Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment as a teenager. She began her career as figure skater performing with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows named Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
