Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished businessman and public servant who is vice president. Cheney is well-known within Washington politics, has served under four presidents from the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush has picked Cheney in July 2000 as his running mate. He praised his judgment and insight. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff to the president, served as an elected congressman Congress and secretary of defence. Both Republicans and Democrats respect him for his honesty and integrity. Cheney explained that his responsibility as an advisor in the Bush administration is that of a discreet but honest adviser. Cheney, who accepted the Republican Vice-Presidential nomination in 2007, stated that his hopes were for working alongside a president who can reach all across the political spectrum to engage with opposition with confidence and to achieve a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the father of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born January 30, 1941 at Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old, he relocated together with family members from Nebraska to Casper in the western part of Wyoming which is where his father was in charge of the district for soil conservation in Casper of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
